Meet Ginger

Ginger Howard began her love for fashion in high school in Waycross, Georgia, where she worked for a family owned department store. She went to the University of Georgia and majored in Fashion Merchandising. Her junior year, she began working in a small Athens boutique, JJ’s. After graduating in 1987, Ginger stayed in Athens and became the manager. She then moved to Alexandria, Virginia where she was the manager of an exclusive boutique owned by designer Frankie Welch.

GINGER-19Being homesick for the South, Ginger returned to Athens and managed JJ’s for the next six years. She then worked for Shaw’s Inc. as a buyer for women’s stores throughout the Southeast.

In March of 1993, she ventured out on her own and started Ginger Howard Company … a Southern buying office which represented twenty five stores. She traveled to New York monthly and spent much of the time visiting the stores.

Ginger moved to Atlanta in 1996 and began a trunk show business. She traveled all over the Southeast selling beautiful clothes in the comfort of people’s homes.

In March of 2001, she opened Ginger Howard Selections, a boutique specializing in unique women’s apparel and accessories located on Peachtree Road in Buckhead. In the nine years since Ginger Howard Selections opened its doors, Ginger has combined her love of fashion and politics by doing wardrobe consulting for politicians’ wives, numerous fashion shows, public speaking engagements, and trunk shows.

If two words could sum up the life and interests of Ginger, they would be faith and fashion. Her faith in God defines her work as the owner of the small boutique, Ginger Howard Selections, in Buckhead. She believes firmly in the values of modesty and ladylike style-ideals she follows as she makes the selections for the fashion-forward clothes available at the store. Ranging from evening dresses to jeans, the store contains clothes in a variety of styles and fabrics.

But beyond beautiful clothing, Ginger Howard Selections offers sales associates who are personally trained by Ginger to provide excellent customer service, a reason many women forgo department store shopping to shop at this one-of-a-kind boutique.

Outside of the store, Ginger is actively involved in the Republican Party, an interest sparked when she worked part-time for the RNC under President George H. W. Bush. In 2004 she was awarded Business Woman of the Year by the NRCC’s Business Advisory Council. She is a 2007 Coverdell Leadership Instiute graduate. In 2008, she was the volunteer coordinator for Saxby Chambliss’ re-election campaign. She continues to contribute to the Republican Party as a member of the National Women’s Republican Club, a past member of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and a current member of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Locally, she is a member of the North Metro Republican Women’s Club, Past chaplain of Georgia Federation of Republican Women, and President-elect and chaplain of The Buckhead Republican Women’s club. She also is a member of the Heritage Foundation and a foundation member of the Georgia Republican Party.

Ginger also invites young women into her home for supper and Bible study, as she lives out her faith by sharing wisdom from her life experiences and models faith and purity for these students. She also enjoys speaking for large audiences at churches and conferences. Ginger is a member of Church of the Apostles.
