Post-Inauguration Update: Making America Great Again!

So many wonderful things have happened in the last couple weeks! Here are some updates from my time in Washington D.C. for the Inauguration of the 45th President of the Unites States of America!

RNC Update:

At the RNC meeting before the Inauguration, the major order of business was to decide on a new chairman (since Reince Priebus will now be White House Chief of Staff for President Trump). Our new Chairwoman will be Ronna Romney McDaniel of Michigan, and she is the first chairwoman in about 40 years! Our new Deputy Co-chair is Bob Paduchik from Ohio. We wish them all the best and are excited to be under their leadership!

Inauguration Festivities:
– The best word to describe the Inauguration Concert on Thursday afternoon, January 19th, is inspiring. It was surreal to be singing patriotic songs with thousands of Americans on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, just hours before President Trump was to be sworn in. My favorite moment was singing “Proud to be an American”–which is truly how I feel!
-On Thursday evening, the Georgia State Society put on a fabulous ball. I had a great time seeing many dear friends, including artist Steve Penley. It was an honor to celebrate the Georgians with significant roles in the new administration, including Sonny Perdue, our new Secretary of Agriculture.
-The Inaugural Swearing-in Ceremony was powerful and moving on many levels. The prayers and scriptures were compelling, and the vision that President Trump delivered to our nation about returning power to the people ignited the enthusiastic crowd gathered at the Capitol.
A few of my favorite quotes from President Trump’s Inauguration Speech:
-“We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.”

-“No challenge can fight the heart and might and spirit of America.”

-“Whether we are black or brown or white, we all still bleed the same red blood of patriots.”

-“If you open your heart to patriotism, there’s no room for prejudice.”

Looking forward:

My heart is full of hope and anticipation as our country begins this new season! I humbly encourage every one of you to get involved in the Georgian Republican Party, to pray for our new President & Vice President & their families, and to find a way to help make America great again.

May God Bless You,
